Jeff Kingston has been teaching at Temple University Japan (TUJ) since 1987 and since then has served as Associate Dean and Acting Dean. He is currently serving as Director of Asian Studies at TUJ and is responsible for maintaining the Asian Studies major at the university, advising students and teaching undergraduate courses.
Kingston has written 3 books on Japan, has another underway, and has written numerous articles for academic journals and for the mass media on Japan. He also writes about Indonesia, East Timor and Burma and is also working with asylum seekers in Japan.
Kingston is frequently interviewed about contemporary Japan on BBC, CNN, NHK, Bloomberg, AFP, AP, the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, Time, USA Today, Cox Newspapers, etc.
